LET'S GROW TOGETHER – and so develop our local & international markets!
At VfB Stuttgart, we are thrilled to welcome the Chinese U16 National Team for a week-long visit as part of the Bundesliga Dream Project. After being somehow the spearhead of the Sino-German Football Collaboration from 2016 - 2021, which lost it´s commitment & drive over the last years, I am now very happy not just being part of the group restarting our Sino-German Bundesliga Dream, but also filling this bilateral collaborations and friendships with life.
So it was as well an exceptional honor for us to have the Chinese ambassador as a guest of honor in Stuttgart this weekend, where he had the opportunity to witness top-tier football firsthand, talk about the next steps of Sino-German relationship & partnership. But as well having the opportunity engaging in a fruitful exchange with top representatives from our vibrant regional economy, politics, and a delegation from China. Germany and China stand since decades as vital partners, and together, we seek to navigate global instabilities and emerge stronger – in the interest of our both societies and beyond.
In recent months, I've been on several missions to Asia, for promoting VfB Stuttgart’s, but as well German Bundesliga‘s international partnerships and global friendships. Football serves as a unifying force, transcending borders and fostering enduring connections. Thanks to players like Hiroki Ito, Genki Haraguchi, Anrie Chase, and Wooyeong Joeng, we're noticing a steadily growing interest in VfB from Japan and South Korea.
A big thank you to Peer Niclas Naubert and Alex Schlüter for the engaging discussion on the internationalization of German football at SPOBIS GmbH 2024. The Bundesliga, its clubs, and fans are unique. It's time to inspire even more people worldwide and continue to strengthen our presence. This requires active clubs and meaningful collaboration with the Bundesliga.
Knowing that our base will always be Stuttgart and our wonderful Land Baden-Württemberg, which is set in stone, an Asia tour by VfB this summer would be a fantastic next step for us – as you see: We are working to make it happen. I’m excited to see where our journey on the pitch and beside takes us!
