Subject: The EU Commission finally decided to increase tariffs on imports of EVs produced in China to up to 45.3% depending on the supplier. Among other four countries, Germany voted against the decision and 12 out of 27 countries abstained. The EU Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) called the decision "protectionist" and "arbitrary". The concern is, of course, to kick-off a trade war with China that damages the performance of the economies in the EU even more. We will discuss the pros and cons of the decision with distinguished experts in the field.

Speakers:

Dr Cora Francisca Jungbluth (Senior Expert China and Asia-Pacific, Bertelsmann Stiftung), Bernhard Weber (First Deputy Chairman, China-Network Baden-Württemberg)
Moderators: Prof Horst Löchel (Frankfurt School), and Prof Rüdiger von Rosen (SGC, Frankfurt School)
