Subject: This conference is hosted by the German-Taiwanese Dialogue Platform and organized by the European Academy Berlin. It marks the third Berlin Taiwan Conference, following the successful events held in 2022 and 2023.
Over the past five years, Taiwan has gained considerable attention in Germany. This has mostly focused on the heightened tensions in the Taiwan Strait due to the People's Republic of China's aggressive actions. Our conference aims to present a more comprehensive picture of Taiwan: its vibrant democracy, its rich culture, and the numerous opportunities for cooperation, especially in the economic sector, they all merit being on the radar screen, too. Through a series of panel discussions and keynote speeches, we aim to deepen the understanding of Taiwan in Germany.
Speakers:
Roderich Kiesewetter (CDU), Yvonne Magwas (CDU), Dr Marcus Faber (FDP), Po-Yu Tseng (Advisor for the Civilian Force Training & Utilization section of the Whole-of-Society Defense Resilience Committee), Prof Dr Wolfgang Niedermark (Member of the Executive Board, BDI), Dr Suang-Jing Pong (National Science and Technology Council, Taiwan, Germany Office), Prof Dr Minn-Tsong Lin (Co-Chair of the German-Taiwanese Dialogue Platform), Reinhard Bütikofer (Co-Chair of the German-Taiwanese Dialogue Platform), and others
