Review: CNBW's Interactive and customized leadership training for Young Leaders

CNBW's Interactive and customized leadership training for Young Leaders took place online on February 20th and March 6th from 6:00 am to 10:30 am CET, and was led by Marcus Dobberstein, Owner of VIAVENDO - a trainer and consultant with over 20 years of experience. CNBW Young Leaders both from China and Germany joined the training.

The first part of the training started with a get-to-know-you session, followed by an insight on principles of communication. Afterwards, different leadership styles were presented, with the opportunity for participants to reflect on themselves and assign themself a leadership type.

The following part of the training dealt in depth with the topic of motivation and skill and discussed how to deal with employees who are either highly motivated but have rather weak skills, or vice versa. Participants analyzed real-life scenarios from their own experience, which allowed them to better understand their employees.

The first part of the training ended with the topics of situational leadership and communication regarding feedback, where participants learned how to react to different situations towards their employees.

In the second part of the training, the group focused on team communication and team development. A particular focus was on the phases of team forming process. All participants could assess their team’s current stage and discuss with the trainer and the group about the reasons and how to improve the situation. Below’s team clock was used to map real-life examples to the theoretical phases of the team forming process.

In addition, dysfunctions of a team and management styles across different cultures were discussed in depth, the latter with particular vivid discussion of the participants from China and Germany.

Overall, the Interactive and customized leadership training for Young Leaders was an intensive and interactive training that provided valuable insights into various aspects of leadership and employee motivation. It was a great chance for Young Leaders of both countries to intensively discuss and learn from each other without having to physically gather at one common place.
