World University Rankings 2023
(23.12.2023) The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 include 1.799 universities across 104 countries and regions, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings to date. The University of Oxford tops for the seventh year. Harvard remains second. Mainland China has the fourth-highest number of institutions in top 200 (11, compared with 10 last year).

International cargo relay reduces costs and carbon footprint
(20.12.2022) Until 31 December 2024, foreign-, Hong Kong- and Macao-flagged vessels are allowed to carry out international cargo relay at Yangshan Port in Shanghai for containers originating from or destined for Dalian, Tianjin and Qingdao. It is a significant policy breakthrough and will provide greater flexibility for carriers to optimise their networks, thereby reducing both transit times and fuel consumption. How does urban rail development in China and India enable technological upgrading?
(19.12.2022) With this paper the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) shows how the Chinese government has moved from purchasing urban rail technology from multinational companies (MNCs) to the current situation where it has developed local capabilities, owns rail technology patents and competes with the same MNCs on the international market.
